FormTab supports a widget lookup field type for the retrieval of remote JSON data from a 3rd party location. Tapping a widget field opens a popover containing a searchable list of the remote data. Selecting a row sets the value of the widget field and, optionally, other fields in the document.
Data that is fetched is cached in-app for offline use and refreshed when the list is next used in an online state.
